So I certainly didn’t expect the first post to be about a smoothie.
The thing is, it was hot one day, and mum was a genius. I’ll let her tell the rest…
It was hot.
I really wanted a smoothie.
Frozen banana and frozen blueberries with coconut yoghurt and coconut water. Heaven. Except…
I was off all fruit except cherries. Long story.
What about a green smoothie? Would it taste OK without a sweetener? And what would go into it? Kale, avocado, coconut water, and …?
Add some ice.
Wow. Amazing. It was the absolute best!
Welcome to the sugar free, fruit free, green smoothie!
Well, that’s not quite true. The star of the show is avocado, which is actually a fruit.

Here’s how you make it:
250ml coconut water
120ml coconut yoghurt
1/3 bunch kale leaves
1 cup ice
Whizz all ingredients on smoothie setting in blender.
Serve in tall glass (makes 2)
